This file contains correspondence between: R.L. Kirk and D.K.(Kerry) Kirke (Medical Registrar-Rural Health, Alice Springs, Northern Territory) regarding their collaboration in which blood was collected from four groups of 25 children for immunoassay. The four groups would be those with 1) severe malnutrition; 2) chronic respiratory disease (upper and/or lower); 3) recurrent diarrhoeal disease; and 4) 'normal'. The aim of the study was to determine whether the administration of gamma-globulin was helpful to chronically infected children. There are two attached sheets giving the name and age of the children in each of the 4 groups: 'normals', diarrhoeal disease (recurrent), respiratory disease and malnutrition.
