- Description
Correspondence from R.L. Kirk to Professor Peter Parsons (School of Biological Sciences, La Trobe University, Victoria) (14/11/1968) describing a talk that he recently attended, by Dr Diane Barwick who has been making detailed genealogical and demographic records for the Aboriginal population of Victoria. She has completed genealogical trees going back to 1840 for nearly all the Aboriginal persons in Victoria. Kirk suggests using these Documents to determine exactly what proportion of Aboriginal genes are present in the living population and performing blood grouping and enzyme typing on the living population in Gippsland. He then suggests that this could be developed into a study on the effects of hybridization.
