The National Centre for Indigenous Genomics manages a collection of Indigenous biospecimens and associated data that can be used by researchers, under Indigenous governance, for projects that aim to provide broad benefit to: the people and communities providing the biospecimens or their descendants; the broader Indigenous community; and the general Australian community.

Details

The National Centre for Indigenous Genomics (NCIG) will contribute to the inclusion of Indigenous Australians in the health, economic, educational and social benefits of genome science. Under Indigenous governance and through community engagement, NCIG will create a resource of genomic data and associated records that will be available for health and historical research of benefit to Indigenous Australians.
